The Spirit Testifies of Truth

This week has been fun! Had a lot of great dinner messages, got to go on an exchange with Elder Watterson,  a 6'8" missionary who is marshalese speaking. He came to our area and he and I worked it hard! Had a lot of great finding, and got to know this lady named Shiela. Elder Watterson and I are also both new, he came out two weeks after me, so it was a different day for me. We had a great experience teaching a less active member the Plan of Salvation. I had to lead since I knew him and I had never done that before. It was rocky, our transitions were not so good, we forgot some little things and we could've asked better questions. But you know what, the Spirit was felt. And that's really all that matters. We may have totally butchered that lesson, but the Spirit helped testify and that's really what counts. Gave me a reassurance of who I am, where the power to teach and testify comes from, and that I am not alone.

We've been trying to work with members more recently and it's been going well. Today, we're going on splits with some members to go visit less actives and some potentials so it should be awesome!

Ok in OK!

Well, it's the start of the new transfer, 6 weeks went by fast! Still in Edmond/Guthrie and it has been awesome! Nothing better than being out here, figuring myself out and really interacting with some pure Oklahomans.

Yesterday, we had dinner at the Morgan's house, and they had us sing Called to Serve for the second time in a row. But hey, Brother
Morgan said that out of all the missionaries that he's heard sing over the years, we were some of the best.

With the ward members we've been teaching them the lessons in their homes to try and get them excited about missionary work. It's been going great so far. We had an amazing lesson with a less active/
recent convert of 7 months. The spirit was so strong, even though we were "practicing our teaching skills", we were just really re-teaching Brother Scroggins the Restoration.

Saturday we spent some time with the Svizers's. Sister Svizer is from Colombia and has a super
thick accent. She is a divorced single mother with two kids still at
home, Julian 16, and Johnluka 12. They needed help setting up a
preschool at their house and we had just got cancelled on, so we went over and helped. We built a trampoline, a ping pong table, talked about the Book of Mormon, and then had some smoothies she made which were great! As we were leaving we realized just how important that was for them. They are struggling and just needed some help physically with the preschool and spiritually with their faith, especially with Julian, who's been struggling since their recent move here and a lack of friends in the ward.

Not a whole lot more going on to be honest! Just going day to day,
step by step, helping the ward and trying to find people to teach.
We've found a lot of great potentials but no one we could actually classify as investigators...yet. The work is moving and it's so great!

Love,

Elder Wold

Rats!

With Elder Fabrizio and Elder Kilmer

Rats, lots of rats!

Hey family, how you doing?  I haven't got a lot to talk
about this week. We had a good exchange yesterday where I was able to lead in the companionship since it was my area. It was definitely weird as I'm still in innocent greeny mode and I usually just follow in line with my companion (note It's not that he's controlling, I just don't contribute as much as I should). So it was awesome being in charge of planning yesterday and really leading where to go.
The best part was that I can truly say that my companion and I yesterday were lead by the Spirit on where to go, who to talk to, and all the right place at the right time sort of stuff. We met with people yesterday that I hadn't seen in weeks and were in the right place at the right time to catch people at home.
Yesterday we also got to teach Tim and Jennifer again. Last time we
went over the Restoration except for Joseph Smith (due to time) so
this time that's what we covered. It was powerful. These people are so
ready! They are what we call a clean slate and they have just been
loving everything about the church, especially Tim. The best part and
most powerful part of the night was Tim's prayer at the end. He did
not say the prayer like we do in our church, but he said it how he
thought. He truly just delivered up all the desires of his heart and
it was wonderful. The spirit was so strong. You could tell that this
man and his family was loved so much by God and was someone who he cared beyond what we know. It was quite the experience.

Love you guys lots and I will keep trying to share these stories the
best I can! This life is so very important, make the best out of it!

Love, Elder Wold

Week 5 in OK

Elder Wold & Elder Fabrizio

Elder Fabrizio

Do I look French with my hair like this?

Hey there! We couldn't get to the library yesterday because of labor
day, so we are doing it today, I swear I'm not breaking the rules!

We did exchanges this week with some Elders in Stillwater. There I
went with Elder Laro and we got to go on the bus and OYM (Open Your
Mouth, pretty much talk to people) people on it. We just sat down on
opposite sides of each other and chatted with a bunch of college
students. It was way cool! We also went to a fair there and had people
mark pages in the Book of Mormon, wherever it said God or Lord, we had
them mark. That went awesome and I think we got a lot of potentials
out of it.
We had an awesome spiritual and funny experience the other day. We
were biking to this dudes house when we saw a couple sitting outside a school in Guthrie, noses deep in their phones. So naturally we got off our bikes and went to chat with them. They were older in their 40's and they were not super interested at first. But as we
kept taking we felt like we should give them this marked Book of
Mormon we got from a member. We asked them if they wanted to learn more and they seemed cool with it. It was so perfect, we'd give it to them, we'd meet with them again and we could tell the Sister we got it from that it was put to good use. But nooOOoo. We asked them for their phone numbers and they just said they'd, "see us around". WHAT?! GIVE
ME THAT BACK! is what I wanted to say. But you can't just take back
that Book of Mormon. So fail.

BUT a couple of days later we were driving to Walmart and we were
like, ehhhh forget walmart let's go visit Ethel, our investigator who
we hadn't seen in 3 weeks because she wasn't home and didn't answer
her texts. So we get there and Ethel was actually outside watering her plants. She was so happy to see us. She apologized because she had been so busy with stuff with her son and his medical problems. We  kept talking and she invited us in. When we got inside we found Charles and Carol, the couple we met at the school, chilling on the couch!!!! We were completely dumbfounded, we didn't say anything for like a minute! We didn't think we'd ever see them again!
And then Charles goes "heh heh told you I'd see you around". Anyway, we now know where and how to get a hold of them! It was so exciting.

I love you guys and will keep you posted on these fun little stories!
I actually have a couple of more from that day but it would take so
long to write them out so you can just read them from my journal in
two years he he. Ship shape, Bristol Fashion!
