Elder Wold had lots of meetings this week and they are teaching a few people which is coming along well. One of the days last week, Elder Wold’s companion, Elder Vogt, all of a sudden said that they needed to stop when they were passing OCU, which is a Methodist college. So they stopped and met the head reverend of the campus, even though it was after hours in the middle of the week. They were able to get all the information they needed to start more actively teaching on that campus. They’ve been trying to figure out how to go about doing this for awhile and so this was a big miracle that night.
Last Sunday the Oklahoma City Temple was rededicated by President Eyring. The missionaries weren’t able to go to the rededication but their mission president and his wife, were able to. Right after the dedication President Eyring came and spoke to all the missionaries for an hour! Elder Wold said that it was such a powerful and spiritual experience. President Eyring spoke on receiving revelation. He also shook each missionary’s hand and looked each one in the eyes. Elder Wold said that he was so impressed with how nice and real Pres. Eyring was.
On Monday, Elder Wold, Elder Vogt, and Elder Martineau drove to Tulsa with Pres. and Sis. Mansell. All the schools in Oklahoma City and in Tulsa were closed for bad weather but the Mansells felt it was safe to travel so Elder Wold said he trusted them and they went to Tulsa for an activity and all was well. Oklahoma did have some tornadoes touch down this last Monday and yesterday but no one was injured and the missionaries went to storm shelters. The storms all passed through by yesterday morning and everyone is safe. We are so grateful that our prayers for the safety of the missionaries and for the people in Oklahoma were answered!
